Receive taxi rides, earn commission and keep track of your money

Two independent drivers, colleagues, chatting and laughing by their black cars on an Amsterdam canal
  • Access to rides you would otherwise never get

Through the network you get a chance at rides from other taxi companies and dispatchers: for hotels, companies, cruise ships, artists and their crew, and events, trade fairs and conferences.

  • Earn extra commission

You can not only drive rides, but also win rides yourself and pass them on to a colleague. For that ride you charge your own commission. The app records who sold the ride and who drove it, and WellTransfers settles the commission automatically.

  • Work the way you want

You decide when you are online and accept or decline offers, with pickup time, distance, sender and expected commission straight on screen. You manage several vehicles in your own garage and keep your profile, bank details and contact details up to date yourself.

  • An overview of your money

Your money is in your own wallet. Per ride and per week you see what you have earned, and you pay out whenever you want.

How do you get more rides as an independent driver?

Not by waiting for someone to call you. There are four things you control yourself, and they all work through the same app.

  1. 01

Go online, because only then can you be chosen

A ride is never assigned automatically: a dispatcher picks a driver from a list, with the nearest at the top. If you are offline, you are not on that list. Being online at the times when rides go out is the one step you take yourself every day.

  2. 02

Say yes to as many kinds of rides as you can handle

Under Ride preferences you say whether you accept rides with commission, whether you have card payment on board, whether you drive on account and whether you wear a suit and tie. A no does not exclude you, but the dispatcher sees it before sending and has to confirm separately. Between two equal drivers, that is the difference.

  3. 03

    Keep your vehicle details correct

When a ride is handed out, the app checks whether the car can do the job: class, seats and luggage space. If your seven-seat van is listed as a car, the warning counts against you on every large ride, while your car could drive it perfectly well. A larger car on a smaller ride is never a problem.

  4. 04

Sell the rides you cannot drive yourself

A regular customer calls while you are already on the road. You create the ride in the app, give it to a colleague and keep your own commission. You then earn from a ride you did not drive, and your customer is helped instead of turned away.

What you keep at the end of the day also depends on who takes a cut. The platform takes no percentage of the rides you drive yourself: you pay €24.99 per month excl. VAT (€0 until 1 March 2027), and otherwise only the costs of your wallet when you incur them (€0.35 per top-up with iDEAL). The commission you earn on a ride you sold on is yours.

How do I get more rides as an independent taxi driver?

There are four things you control yourself. Go online, because a ride is never assigned automatically and a dispatcher chooses from the drivers who are online at that moment. Under Ride preferences, say yes to as many kinds of rides as you can handle, because the dispatcher has to confirm a no separately. Keep your vehicle details correct, because class, seats and luggage are checked when a ride is handed out. And sell the rides you cannot drive yourself to a colleague, so you keep your own commission on them. The platform takes no percentage of the rides you drive yourself: you pay €24.99 per month excl. VAT.

What does this give me over a WhatsApp group with fellow drivers?

A chat group works fine for the question of who can take over a ride, and that is exactly what happens here, but with the paperwork taken care of. The difference is in four things. You see who is in the network, everyone in it has been approved by the platform, and we review their driver card and the papers of their car one by one, so you never hand a regular customer to a stranger. You agree the commission in advance and it is calculated and recorded for you, instead of having to work out afterwards who still owes whom what. The ride can be followed live, so you can tell your customer where the car is without calling. And the commission is settled through your wallet after every ride, instead of with separate payment requests. It costs you €24.99 per month excluding VAT and 0% of the rides you drive yourself.

Do I have to belong to a dispatcher to receive rides?

No. As an independent driver you sign up on the platform yourself. Once approved, you go online and can receive taxi rides from all connected companies and dispatchers.

What do I need to sign up?

In the app you enter your details, documents and vehicle. The platform checks your application and approves driver and vehicle.

What does the taxi app for drivers cost?

A fixed subscription of €24.99 per month excl. VAT (€0 until 1 March 2027), paid from your wallet every month, with its own invoice. The platform takes no percentage of the rides you drive yourself; if you pass a ride on to a colleague, you pay 5% of the commission you receive for it. Until 1 March 2027 you pay €0 per month: a promotion for every driver, including drivers who sign up now.

When do I get my money, and how do I see what is coming in?

What you earn goes into your own wallet with Stripe, our payment partner, and you pay out whenever you want to the account number you gave there. Paying out is free. Stripe holds new money for a while first: the first time you can pay it out after 7 days, after that after 3 days, and the app shows per day what becomes available. You also get one invoice per week listing every ride separately with date, route and amount, you see your rides and your earnings per day, and you can export all your own data.

Does the app keep my ride records?

For the rides that go through the network, yes: the app shows the price and the commission per ride, and your weekly invoice lists every ride separately with date, route and the amount that goes with it, itemised per invoice line. What you do not get is reporting to the Centrale Database Taxivervoer (CDT), the Dutch central taxi transport database; that is a separate obligation tied to your vehicle and your ride registration, and what the CDT asks of you and from when is in our Dutch guide on the CDT.

How does sharing taxi rides work in the driver app?

You can win taxi rides yourself and pass them on to a colleague. For the taxi rides you pass on, you charge your own commission. The app records who sold the ride and who drove it, and WellTransfers settles the commission automatically.

How do I receive a ride offer?

When you are online, you are visible on the dispatch map of the connected companies and dispatchers. If a company or dispatcher has a ride left over, you get the whole ride as a notification on your phone, even with the app closed: price, route, pickup time, distance and commission, with Accept and Decline below it. You have 24 seconds to decide, with a countdown ring around the buttons; if you do not respond, the ride goes back to whoever handed it out.

Can I use more than one vehicle?

Yes. You manage several vehicles in your own garage, and you keep your profile, bank details and contact details up to date yourself.

May I accept a ride across the border?

Yes. The network is active across Europe, so you can simply accept a ride to Antwerp, Düsseldorf or Brussels Airport. Such a ride does work differently from a ride in town: the Dutch maximum fares only apply within the Netherlands, so on a cross-border ride the price is fixed in advance and you see that amount in the offer. Keep an eye on your own driving and rest times, because they count across the border too.

Is WellTransfers an employer?

No. WellTransfers is a platform. You drive as an independent driver and decide yourself when you are online.
