Private driver in Amsterdam
A private driver in Amsterdam for a half day, an evening or a run of appointments. You agree the programme in advance and the same driver stays with you for the whole booking.
Half day · full day · several addresses
One driver throughout
The same driver for the whole booking, so you never have to explain the plan twice.
Discreet and presentable
Professional drivers who know when conversation is welcome and when it is not. Door to door, properly.
Planned in advance
You agree the programme, the addresses and the times beforehand. If the day changes, you sort it out directly with your driver.
What people book a private chauffeur in Amsterdam for
Hiring a car with a driver pays off when you have several addresses in one day, or when driving and parking cost you time you would rather spend on something else.
- A day of back-to-back meetings
- Your driver takes you from one appointment to the next and waits in between. No parking, no circling the block, and you can keep working on the way.
- Clients and guests
- Collect relations or colleagues from Schiphol or their hotel and bring them to the office or the restaurant without anyone having to find a taxi.
- Events and evenings out
- A dinner, a premiere or a company party: you are dropped at the door and picked up at the time you agreed.
- A programme across the region
- Several addresses in and around Amsterdam, at your own pace, with the same driver all day.
Frequently asked questions
Just need a ride to the airport? See Amsterdam airport taxi or, for what that ride costs, airport to city centre. For how taxis work across the city, see taxi in Amsterdam.
How do I hire a private driver in Amsterdam?
Send a message on WhatsApp or call +31 85 130 92 78. Tell us when you need a driver, the pickup address and roughly what the programme looks like, and the booking is arranged for you.
Can I book a car with a driver for a whole day?
Yes. A private driver works for a single ride, for a half day or for a full day with several addresses. You agree beforehand which shape fits your programme.
Will the driver use my own car?
No. Your driver arrives in their own car, a presentable vehicle that has been checked in advance. A driver who drives your car, the way a student-driver or injury-driver service works, is a different service and we do not offer it.
Which areas do you cover?
Amsterdam, Schiphol and the surrounding area. Rides further into the country can be arranged.
What cars do you drive?
Presentable luxury saloons and SUVs, a Mercedes S-Class or comparable. The cars belong to the drivers themselves, we own no fleet, and both the vehicle and the driver are approved before any work reaches them. A luxury chauffeur service is about the car and the driver in equal measure, so the standard for turning up presentable is the same either way.
What does a private driver in Amsterdam cost?
You agree the amount in advance, and there is a legal ceiling you can use as a benchmark. A private driver carries passengers by car for payment, and that is taxi transport: up to 8 passengers the car counts as a car within the meaning of section 1 of the Wet personenvervoer 2000, the Dutch passenger transport act. Maximum fares have applied to it since 1 January 2026, and for a car carrying up to 4 passengers those are at most €4.31 to start, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute; from five passengers the higher van rate applies. For a 20 kilometre ride of roughly 30 minutes that ceiling works out at €83.31. If the driver waits between your appointments, that may cost at most €59.41 per hour, and only if you agreed it beforehand. You will not find a price list here, because the driver or the transport company sets it and an agreed price is often below the maximum; ask for it when you enquire, together with what happens if the programme runs late.
How is this different from booking a taxi?
A taxi takes you from A to B. A private driver stays available for the time you agreed, waits between your appointments and covers several addresses on one assignment.
Is a private driver an alternative to a ride-hailing app?
For a single trip an app is usually quicker to arrange. The difference shows up when the day has several stops: with an app you order again each time and get a different driver, and the price moves with demand. With a private driver you agree the whole programme in advance and the same driver stays with you.
