About WellTransfers

What is WellTransfers?

WellTransfers is a platform where independent taxi drivers, taxi companies and dispatchers share rides with each other. A ride that a company cannot drive itself is not lost, but offered through the app to a reliable driver from the network. The driver drives the ride, everyone follows it live on the map and the commission is settled automatically after every ride through the wallets of driver and dispatcher. WellTransfers is a Dutch company, registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 97992135.

Is WellTransfers the same as WeTransfer?

No, and the two have nothing to do with each other. WellTransfers is a Dutch taxi platform where drivers, taxi companies and dispatchers share rides with each other (KvK 97992135). WeTransfer is a service for sending files. The names look alike, the companies are separate, and we are not connected to WeTransfer in any way.

Is WellTransfers the employer of the drivers?

No. WellTransfers does not employ drivers; the rides are driven by independent drivers and by the drivers of taxi companies and dispatchers.

How is it different from Uber or Bolt?

With WellTransfers there is no platform between driver and customer: companies and dispatchers keep their own customers. A driver pays a fixed amount per month and no percentage of the rides they drive; a ride a traveller books directly with WellTransfers goes to the driver for the full fare. If you give a ride to someone else, you pay 5% of the commission you receive for it. You agree prices and commissions yourself, per company, per customer and per ride. The network is built for business transport, such as hotels, companies, cruises and artists, and not only for single rides on the street. After every ride everything is settled through the wallet, with one invoice per week for all your rides.

Does WellTransfers work on the web and on mobile?

Yes. The operator console, the driver app and the booking environment for clients run on the web and on mobile, on the same engine and with the same rules.

Which languages does WellTransfers work in?

The mobile app, booking without an account, the tracking link, the push notifications and the emails are available in thirteen languages: Dutch, English, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Chinese. The language follows that of your phone or browser, and you can also choose it yourself: in the app under Settings, and with the language button when you book. The web portal for dispatchers and clients is in Dutch, and this website is available in Dutch and English.

Do I have to pay in advance if I book a ride without an account?

Yes. If you book without logging in, you see the price before you confirm and pay it straight away by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or iDEAL; the ride is only confirmed once the payment has come in. You then get a confirmation by email with a tracking link, on which you see the driver approaching on the map without having to log in anywhere. A hotel or company with its own portal does not pay in advance: how it pays, for example on account, it agrees with its taxi company or dispatcher.

What happens to my data?

For a ride we keep what is needed to drive it and to account for it: the addresses, the time, the price, and the phone number on which the driver can reach you. You only see your driver’s position around your own ride, the tracking link expires shortly after the ride, and what we keep and for how long is set out per type of data in our privacy policy, which is in Dutch. There you can also request your own data or have your account deleted.

For dispatchers

How does assigning rides work?

You choose the driver yourself. You see the available drivers on the map, nearest first, with their car and ride preferences, and send the ride to one driver. They have 24 seconds to accept, with a countdown ring in their app. If they decline or do not respond in time, the ride is open again and you choose someone else.

Can I use WellTransfers with my own logo?

Yes, your name and logo appear in the portal of your clients, and a hotel or company can also have its own logo there. The colours of the apps are the same for everyone, as is the mobile driver app, because an independent driver drives for several dispatchers.

Is my data as a dispatcher kept separate from other dispatchers?

Yes. The database separates every dispatcher from the others: another dispatcher does not see your rides, your clients or your fares. Only if you deliberately hand over your shift to another dispatcher does that dispatcher see your rides, for as long as they stand in for you.

How quickly can I go live as a dispatcher?

You create your dispatcher account yourself and set up your environment; we review your application within a few hours, and once approved you can create rides. If you would like a demo first, get in touch. After that you add your clients and colleague dispatchers; drivers sign up themselves and are in the network once approved.

What does WellTransfers cost?

Independent drivers pay a fixed subscription of €24.99 per month excl. VAT and nothing on the rides they drive themselves; until 1 March 2027 that is €0, an offer that also applies if you sign up now. Taxi companies and dispatchers pay no subscription, but they do pay 5% of the commission they receive on every ride they hand out through the platform. Business clients and travellers pay nothing to the platform; the fare follows the rates of their taxi company or dispatcher.

For drivers

What do I need to drive through WellTransfers?

You sign up yourself in the app, without having to belong to a dispatcher, and enter your details, documents and vehicle. The platform checks your application and approves driver and vehicle; after that you can go online and receive rides.

How do I earn commission?

You can not only drive rides, but also win rides yourself and pass them on to a colleague. For a ride you pass on, you charge your own commission. The app records who sold the ride and who drove it, and WellTransfers settles the commission automatically.

When is the money settled?

After every ride, through the wallet: the commission goes from the wallet of the driver who drove the ride to the wallet of whoever handed it out. A ride on account is first approved by the dispatcher, or goes through automatically after a week. You pay out yourself whenever you want, and every week you get one invoice listing every ride.

Do I need money in my wallet to accept rides?

Only for the commission you pay. If you accept a ride on which you pay commission and which the passenger pays to you in cash or by card, the app sets that commission plus VAT aside in your wallet when you accept. If there is not enough in it, you cannot accept that ride. A ride without commission, or a ride the passenger has paid in advance, sets nothing aside. That way nobody ends up in the red. You top up with iDEAL, and that counts straight away. Without an active wallet you only accept rides without commission that are paid in cash or by card, because a ride paid in advance is paid out into your wallet.

Do I decide when I work?

Yes. You decide when you are online. You get an offer with pickup time, distance, sender and expected commission, and you accept or decline it yourself.

Doubts and objections

Am I guaranteed rides through WellTransfers?

No, and we would rather be honest about that: nobody can guarantee your work. What we do is make you visible. If you are online, you are on the dispatch map of all connected companies and dispatchers, and you get offers with pickup time, distance, sender and expected commission. You decide yourself whether to accept.

Why is WellTransfers not free for drivers?

Because we take nothing from the rides you drive yourself. The platform earns only from one fixed amount of €24.99 per month excl. VAT (€30.24 incl. VAT) and takes 0% of the rides you drive yourself. With one extra ride a month, the subscription has usually already paid for itself. Until 1 March 2027 you pay €0 per month: a promotion for every driver, including drivers who sign up now.

Do I also pay a percentage of the commission I charge myself?

Yes: if you pass a ride on to a colleague, the platform charges 5% of the commission you receive (excl. VAT); the rest is yours. On the rides you drive yourself you pay the platform nothing. According to its own pages, a comparable Dutch network charges 3 to 10% of the commission, depending on volume (checked on 16 September 2026).

Do I also pay for my own customers and my own rides?

No. Rides from your own customers stay yours, at your own fares. You can put them in the app to pass them on to a colleague when you cannot drive yourself.

Can I cancel monthly?

Yes. The subscription can be cancelled monthly: no annual contract and no notice period of months.

How do clients know I am reliable?

In two ways. A driver can only take rides once the platform has approved their application and their car. For every driver we review the driver card, driving licence, insurance and vehicle registration one by one, and a document that is about to expire comes up on our list before its expiry date, with a reminder to the driver. And from every driver we expect a well-groomed appearance and a clean, undamaged and smoke-free vehicle; complaints are recorded.

Do I have to wear a suit and tie?

We do not prescribe a set uniform. We do expect you to turn up presentable and well groomed: you drive hotel guests, business travellers, cruise passengers and artists. Your vehicle should be clean, undamaged and smoke-free. A ride can ask for a suit or a tie: it then says so in the offer, and under Ride preferences you indicate whether you wear one. If you say no, the dispatcher sees that before sending you such a ride.

What if a customer complains about the ride or the price?

Every complaint can be reported and is recorded against the driver or company involved. The fare is decided by the taxi company or dispatcher that sold the ride, because they set the rates; we look up what was agreed and what was driven, and help the parties sort it out. Serious or repeated complaints lead to suspension or removal from the network.

For hotels & businesses

How do I book a ride for a guest?

Through your own business booking portal. You enter the guest’s name and phone number; the guest does not need an account.

How do I pay for the rides?

As you agree with your regular taxi company or dispatcher. If you agree that your rides go on account, they set them up that way, and at the end of the month they can send you one invoice with all the rides on account for that month: per ride the date, the route and the amount, and the VAT at the bottom. So you pay your own dispatcher and not WellTransfers.

Do I earn commission as a hotel?

That is possible, and you agree it directly with your taxi company or dispatcher: whatever you agree about the guests you bring in, you settle between yourselves, and it does not go through the platform.

What we do not do

Three things we are often asked about, where the answer is no. That is not small print but the quickest way to see whether this platform suits you.

  • We do not supply data to the Centrale Database Taxivervoer (CDT). What that means for your choice if you are looking for an on-board computer or a CDT solution is explained in Dutch on CDT taxi.
  • We are not an official Schiphol taxi. At the taxi rank in front of Schiphol Plaza you find the firms registered with Schiphol; with us you book in advance. The difference is explained on Amsterdam Airport taxi.
  • We do not sell training courses or practice exams. Our knowledge base explains the route to a taxi driver card with the fees of the CBR and Kiwa, and nothing else. It is in Dutch; start with taxipas halen (getting your taxi driver card).
