Sharing rides in the network: how it works
WellTransfers is an app in which independent taxi drivers, taxi companies and dispatchers share rides with each other. If you cannot drive a ride yourself, you give it to another driver instead of cancelling it.
See how it works
In just over a minute you see how drivers and dispatchers use the app: going online, accepting and driving a ride, checking your earnings, and creating a ride yourself and giving it to a driver. You also see how a hotel or company books a ride itself, and how a driver hands out rides for a dispatcher. The video is in Dutch.
Who does what on your ride
- Booking
- You book with WellTransfers, on the website or in the app.
- Price
- WellTransfers sets the price up front. It stays fixed, even when it is busy.
- Payment
- Up front to WellTransfers. The full fare goes to the driver who drives.
- Driving
- An independent driver with their own Kiwa taxi licence, driver card and blue licence plate. We check those documents beforehand.
- Point of contact and complaints
- WellTransfers, before, during and after your ride. The complaints page explains how to file a complaint.
- Software for drivers and taxi companies
- A separate service with its own subscription, which they use to plan and share rides.
From sign-up to settlement
Sign up
The driver signs up in the app and enters their details, documents and vehicle.
Approval
The platform checks the application and approves driver and vehicle.
Active in the network
The driver opens their wallet and is active in the network. The subscription is paid from the wallet every month, with its own invoice.
Go online
The driver goes online and is visible on the dispatch map of the connected companies and dispatchers.
Receive an offer
A company or dispatcher has a ride left over and sends an offer. The driver gets a notification with the whole ride in it: price, route, pickup time, distance and commission, with Accept and Decline. They have 24 seconds to decide, with a countdown ring around the buttons.
Drive the ride
The driver drives the ride. Client, dispatcher and traveller follow the ride live on the map.
Commission calculated
After the ride the app records the fare and calculates the commission.
Settled through the wallet
The wallet is your own balance in the app. The commission goes from the wallet of the driver who drove to the wallet of whoever handed out the ride. Every week your rides are on one invoice for your records.
You have a ride of your own and cannot drive it: what do you do?
A regular customer calls while you are already on the road. You do not have to say no and you do not lose the ride: you put it in the app, choose a colleague and earn a commission on it.
- 01
Create the ride
In the app you enter the ride as your customer gives it to you: pickup address, destination, time and price. The ride stays yours, even when a colleague drives it.
- 02
Choose a colleague
You see which approved drivers are online right now, the nearest at the top. You pick one and send them the ride.
- 03
They accept
They get a notification with the whole ride, including the commission they pay for it. If they accept, the app keeps what they saw: a higher amount or a higher percentage than that is never charged.
- 04
You earn the commission
They drive, your customer is helped and after the ride the commission is in your wallet. You did not drive that ride yourself.
Are you a taxi company or dispatcher? Then it works almost the same way, but you start on your own ride board. This is how a dispatcher hands out a ride, step by step.
Who earns what when a colleague drives your ride?
The app records who brought in the ride and who drove it. After the ride the commission goes from the driver who drove to whoever brought in the ride. That runs through WellTransfers, which keeps 5% of the commission. Every week all those rides are on one invoice.
How much commission goes with a ride is up to you: per ride, per customer or as a fixed default. The driver who drives pays no fee.
Example · agreed commission 10%
Ride city centre → Schiphol
Fare €50.00
Driver A · brings in the ride, is busy
+ €4.75
earns €5.00 commission, minus €0.25 fee
Driver B · colleague nearby, drives the ride
− €5.00
pays commission
Amounts excl. VAT. The 10% is an example: you agree your own commission. The difference of €0.25 is the fee for WellTransfers: 5% of the commission.
Who is WellTransfers for?
Independent driver
Signs up on their own, even without a regular dispatcher. Once approved, they go online and receive rides from all connected companies and dispatchers.

Sharing rides in practice
Hotel in Amsterdam
Reception books a ride to Schiphol for a guest through the portal of its regular dispatcher. The dispatcher has no car of its own free at that moment and sends the ride to an independent driver who is online nearby. The driver drives, the dispatcher keeps its customer happy and earns commission, and the driver has an extra ride.
Cruise ship
A ship arrives with hundreds of passengers who need transport. One taxi company can never do that alone. Through the network the rides are divided among dozens of independent drivers, all visible live on the map.
Artist with crew
An event agency books transport for an artist and their crew from hotel to stage and back. The company passes part of the rides on to regular, approved drivers from the network.
A driver who wins work themselves
A regular customer calls an independent driver who already has a ride. The driver creates the ride in the app and sends it to a colleague nearby. The colleague drives, and the driver earns a commission without driving.

What is ride sharing?
Ride sharing means: if you cannot drive a ride yourself, you give it to another approved driver. You can do that as a taxi company, as a dispatcher and as an independent driver. Your customer is simply helped, and the commission is settled automatically after the ride.
How is the commission set?
You set it yourself: per ride, per customer or as a fixed default for your company. The app records who brought in the ride and who drove it. After the ride WellTransfers settles the commission automatically.
Can the commission still go up after the offer?
Not above what the driver accepted. They never pay a higher amount or a higher percentage than they saw when they accepted the ride, and an increase after that only applies from the next ride. If it is a percentage, the app calculates it over the final fare: if that comes out higher, because the ride took longer than planned, the amount rises with it, the percentage does not. If the dispatcher completes the ride for them, it stays at the amount from the offer.
Who approves drivers and vehicles?
WellTransfers itself. A driver signs up with their details, documents and car. We check the application and approve driver and car. Only then can they receive rides.
Do companies and dispatchers keep their own customers?
Yes. WellTransfers does not take over your customers. You keep your own customers, your own prices and your own commission agreements.
Why WellTransfers and not Uber or Bolt?
With WellTransfers there is no platform between driver and customer: companies and dispatchers keep their own customers. A driver pays a fixed amount per month and no percentage of the rides they drive; a ride a traveller books directly with WellTransfers goes to the driver for the full fare. If you give a ride to someone else, you pay 5% of the commission you receive for it. You agree prices and commissions yourself, per company, per customer and per ride. The network is built for business transport, such as hotels, companies, cruises and artists, and not only for single rides on the street. After every ride everything is settled through the wallet, with one invoice per week for all your rides.
Who do I deal with during a ride?
With the driver who drives, and with the taxi company or dispatcher you booked the ride with. They make the agreements on price and service. WellTransfers is not the drivers’ employer: we provide the app with which rides are shared out and tracked, and we settle the commission.
More rides, no missed rides
Sign up as an independent driver. Companies and dispatchers join without a subscription.
